Sew Excited!

Recently a friend (Megan) took me to a really cute fabric store in Portland and It got me excited for sewing again.. so I took over our computer desk ( since we never put our laptops there anyways) and claimed it as my new sewing desk.:)
I even went through my fabric and got rid of stuff I wasnt using and organized the stuff I was using.
Including my scrap pieces!! (i'm super lame I know) Now I just need it to stop raining so I can refinish my desk ..

September 29 2011 -Max Cardiff Buchanan

On thursday September 29th at 1:30 am came little Max Cardiff Buchanan.. I went into the hospital around 8:30 pm wed night with contractions (non painful) 5-7 mins apart. They told me that i wasn't progressing enough so i could wait it out or go home... so we went home.
As soon as I got home i had to go right back to the hospital in hard labor..! Adam zoomed through town again trying not to crash. They met me with a wheelchair and said "well i guess we should have kept you here:)" It was a great delivery and Max came 2 hours later with a nice comfy epidural:)
Adam was a true champ! every step of the way looking out for me.. and can i just say ...I LOVE delivery day!.. The snuggliest little soul, who you've always known, is finally in your arms.. How did you ever live with out this person before?
Max came out as calm as ever.. not screaming , just looking around and taking in the entire experience.. just as we were.
We had some great ladies in our ward stay at our house with our kids until Grandma came the next morning.
Then Ryan and Beckham came to the hospital the next morning to meet their new baby brother.. Beckham was instantly in love with him.. he couldnt stop saying how little he was and "so handsome"...like me:) Ryan was a little leary at first.. she had to check me out to see if i was ok and at first wouldnt touch me or the baby... she finally did and now i cant stop her from kissing him or snuggling him.. she really watches out for him :)

Portland Temple visit

This morning we had some time so we drive 20 mins to the Portland Temple. It was beautiful!

Bread Making

When we were growing up my mom would have us help her make whole wheat bread. She would have us pat it and make our own little bread loafs... then with the extra we would throw on some cinnamon and sugar and make cinnamon rolls... all the while we usually had some fun music playing in the background.

Until recently i was overwhelmed with the entire process... it all started when we were in San Diego last month and we came across this awesome thrift shop.. and inside we found a Bosch Universal mixer... barely touched for $30.. regularly $400.. My mom saw it and immediately got it for me...

So that leads us to today.. Today was a take-2 phase of the Bread Making lesson in my life with my Mom, and I totally LOVED IT again! Especially with the Bosch- I could make 5 loafs of bread at once instead of 1...

Ryan wanted to join in on the fun as well:) She was my good little helper.

Ok so my loaves were a little uneven but they tasted amaizing and smelled so good.

In case you didn't know we are expecting our 3rd little festus !!! October 5th ish.. which happens to be my moms birthday. funny huh! we are really excited and so are the kids. I am only 12 weeks along but I am getting big fast. I'm at that great point where no clothes fit me.. my regular ones or maternity yet..so its pretty fun. So 99% of the people i have asked say #3 will kill you... 1 person said her #3 was super super easy...! please give me some hope out there:) or advice for #3.

Beckham is 2! I cant believe it and he is finally happy... the entire last year and a half has been some what of a nightmare trying to figure out all of his allergies.. He was mad all of the time and obviously didnt feel well.. Now that we know he cannot have eggs, dairy, or soy....he has returned to us! :)So here's some happy pics of the new and improved Beckham!
They wouldn't smile until Adam threw a snow ball at them!

Ok so this year was our first garden... we planted everything from seeds.. and didnt really know what we were doing..
Lesson 1 : one seed per hole!!!!! (poor carrots)
Lesson 2 : Tomatoe plants get WAY bigger than you might think.
Lesson 3 : Dont plant bitter lettuce ( plant the non-bitter kind)
Lesson 4: The bigger the NOT better with squash! pick them while they are young and small..( this pic is too small obviously)
WE are still having fun though.
The kids got a kick out of our funky carrots.

Alien Trail

Ok so last year I really contemplated selling my mountain bike because I typically ride my road bike these days.... So I brushed off the cobwebs last week and took a ride with Adam, my brother Steve and my Dad. We rode the famous Alien trail here in Aztec . It goes right by a famous alien landing site.. We did the 5 mile loop which doesnt sound too hard but it has like 1/4 mile of 2 feet sand, 2 miles of fun swoopy single track , a huge chunk of what looks/feels like slick rock (Moab) and for some danger ...sharp bushes if you fall.. they feel like daggers:) over all--- it was AWESOME! I highly recomend it.

Can I just say that getting back on my mountain bike it was like seeing an old friend.. I Loved it. I had forgotten how much I love mountain biking.

Over all.... fu-un...

Riverfest 2010

We recently got a Pug puppy that is adorable and has the sweetest personality. We named her Brighton (like the ski resort, not the jewelry):)

My 29 th Birthday

Well it was my 29th birthday today.. I had a great time. First Ruth took me to a little restaraunt called Something Special in Farmington. We had a great time on their patio. It was warm out with a cool breeze and there were grape vines all over.. really fun atmosphere.

It occured to me after i ate half of my plate to take a picture of it. it was beautiful before i mauled it.
Move over Vanna White.

Adam got me this AWESOME Nixon watch. Its super colorful and fun. I love it !

That evening my parents and brother Steve took me out to dinner and then home to play games. My favorite.. This is also a shirt Adam got me. He has great taste.
HEre's an upclose of the watch. Adam also got me a 16 gig I Touch.. i LOVE it. I had an 8 gig before and ran out of space.

I had the best birthday today! thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and for being in my life one way or the other. I hope everyone feels as loved as I do on their birthdays.

Today we blessed Beckham at church. We had some family and friends who came. It was great.

Ryan got no nap today so she was super tired.. but I got her a new dress and shoes for the occasion. Her shoes have Jewels on them and she LOVES them.! She was adorable.

Weekend at the Range

Beckham Cru

Here is Beckham Cru! He came Dec 26th at about 5:30 pm. The delivery was a dream! 4 and a half hours and i only had to push for about 20 mins. He weighed 6 lbs 14 oz.

My brothers son Shane was born on the same day 2 hours earlier.. you better believe there were bets on who would come first. we lost... :( but Beckham was 4 oz bigger so we'll call it even. jk

He really is such a great baby. He loves to watch his big sister Ryan. She is adjusting pretty well I think. She loves him. but hates the loss of attention she feels. We are doing our best though.

This is his favorite Mater fleece blanket from the movie Cars. Its super snuggly.

Brand new baby... there's nothing like it.

The entire time I kept thinking to myself and saying to Adam that I am so thankful for a healthy body that allows me to have children and have this great experience.. I actually really enjoy child birth,( with an epidural of course) its the 9 months of pregnancy thats not so fun. Either way i am so blessed. Thank you everyone for the meals and visits that got me through the first couple weeks.

Christmas 2008

We had a fabulous Christmas! My parents came to spend Christmas with us in Salt Lake, ( and help with the baby that was due the day after Christmast) In this pic Ryan was watching the movie Cars on mom's ipod and would NOt put it down.

I realized that I didnt have any pregnant pictures so here's one.

Ryan got a tricycle for Christmas with a little bell on the handle and a name plate on the back that says Ryan.. its super cute.

They were troopers for leaving their brand new big warm cozy house to come spend Christmas with us in our apartment. Thanks mom and dad.. you made our Christmas!

Adam recently baught me a piano. I have always wanted one and it has been such a fun thing to have in our house. It really gives our house a "homey" feeling having music being played. Thank you so much Adam.

Halloween "Bee" style

So for Halloween this year Ryan was a bee.. She was so cute! I know in blogging less is more but I couldnt decide so to save time i threw them all up. plus I love them all.

Our Halloween started out going to Adams work and trick or treating around some cubicles. She scored some goodies there. Oh and here's a bag I made for Ryan. It was supose to be a little smaller but I figure it will last her all her Trick or Treating days. She called it her "purse"

She kept saying "water meeoaon" as in watermelon sucker.. Oh and Adams costume is a business man working at backcountry..:)

Ok so later Jess and I took our girls to Tracy Aviary for free trick or treating around the aviary. They loved the ducks and owels.

My little brother Brian left for basic training in the Airforce a few weekends ago. Here are some pictures of our farewell weekend with him in New Mexico. We are so proud of him. We went camping this friday night up Brighton with some of our friends. We had a good time. The hike up was a little tough with all the kids and gear. But still fun

Apricot Season

So I have been wanting to can this year and I havent done it since i was a kid. So my friend Jess
and I got some apricots together and my mom helped me can them and make apricot/pineapple jam.. YUM!

We did it while Dad and Adam went to the Apple store.

My mom helped me get all set up with the pots and stuff that i would need.

With the remaining I am going to make fruit leather. I'll let you know how it comes out.:) ps thanks so much mom!

Trip to Pennslyvania

Happy Fathers Day!!
Here's a little shout out to Adam and my dad for fathers day.

Here's some of the reasons that I love Him so.
Adam is great because :

-when we decide to go do something he is already gettting stuff ready .
- He helps me see clearly when i get overwhelmed. i.e cleaning the house
-he always tells me how great I look. (even when I look terrible)

- When I start worrying too much he lightens the mood and helps me relax.
-Sometimes I start talking too much and he doesnt tune me out. (too much)He just lets me talk
- He loves my family just as much as me
- He isnt afraid to show affection to Ryan or say "I love you" to her.(or me)

-He is loves the outdoors and just getting out like I do.
-He is Hot
- and last of all he is a bad Ace. Look at him go!
Overall Adam I love you and thanks for being a great dad to Ryan and a great Husband too.

Here is a shout out to my own dad (aka BIG J). Thanks for always being there for me and teaching me how to be a good person. I owe so much to you. love you

Summer Shirt

Ok so my friend Jess and I got together and made our girls shirts for the summer. We had a blast. We put the girls to bed and sewed! I will try to get a picture of little Penelopes shirt. Its soo cute. Thanks again Jess.

So we met Kari and Spencer at Liberty Park for a bbq and we had a great time. I know that some of these pictures may seem repetative but they were so cute that I couldn't choose.

Adams Graduation

So I havent blogged for way too long. Here is a little catch up. Adam Graduated!!! woo hooo

Kristi flew in and spent the day with us in Salt Lake. She even rode on the back of the technically "red" colored moped with Adam. It was so funny they were screaming the whole way to the U.

Ok so I saw this idea on Etsy so I do not take credit for it.. but it looked so simple that
I really wanted to try it..

I forgot to take some pics of her wearing it but I will try to do that this week.

I didnt mean to make the bottom pink section quite so large.. so next time i will make it 1/4 of the width instead of half of it.

Ingrid Michaelson Cafe Hotel Tour 2008

Guess what!!!! Yesterday I heard on the radio that Ingrid Michaelson was going to be preforming at Best Buy by my house for free and would be giving away a Wii. So my friends Eric, Jess and Penelope came. And Eric won some concert tickets for sat night! (We didnt win the wii).. so he gave the tickets to Jess and I. Woo hooo! Eric you rock!!

She met everyone and signed Cd's. She was super cool . She even sang Fools Rush in. My favorite song!

So I totally recomend her cd.. it's awesome. She has the coolest freshest voice. While we were up there getting a pic, Ryan dropped her binki and Ingrid picked it up for her She was so nice. ..she was saying the entire time how much she loved kids and dogs.. And I love those exact things too. !We should be bffs!!!jk.;)

So at the concert she sang the song from sixteen candles If you were here... ahhhh my fav movie! The hot guy pulls up in his Porche and waits for her! I love that song.

She also played with a girl named Meiko who has done a lot of songs on the Grey's anatomy cd. (Actually so has Ingrid)

OH my gosh it was sooo fun.!!@ THank you so much Eric and Adam for watching the girls and letting Jess and I go rock out!Love ya

How funny is this picture...! She had a mouth full of jelly beans and she doesnt have any back teeth so she swallows them whole.. So this is a picture of her seeing me coming to "help" her with those:)

She was soo cute.. she was so excited to talk to all the other kids and be out in the sun.

She had a hard time hanging on to her basket so Adam was her wingman.

So on actual easter morning this is what Ryan got from the easter bunny. She got sidewalk chalk, a toddler flashlightand Eggs full of sweet tarts.. (her favorite)

So this is our Sunday Easter morning picture.. so after church we were going to take a family picture. Ryan fell asleep right at the end of church and Adam was changed so fast that I had to represent the family alone.

Twilight New Moon Eclipse

I Love love love these books! such a fun and different story. If you haven't read them you are missing out. I am making my sister Bonnie read them so I have someone to talk to about them. I actually have to force myself to Not call her and see where shes at in the first book. She only has 4 little boys, its not like she's busy or anything:)

Mexico-Playa Del Carmen

Playa Del Carmen was our favorite place by far! We loved it better than Cancun. They had the funnest shops both ritzy and local. And this was the BEST fruit and it was so cheap.

I f you aren't careful they will not give you back the right amount of change. So this little lady was getting our change and she was just so cute i didnt say anything.. she got an extra dollar from us. I figure is was part of the whole experience.

I got mango, pineapple, coconut, papaya and honeydew YUM
We laughed at this pretty hard. "& Deli" was attached to everything.. even the drug stores. I think its like how every store in New Mexico is followed with "& Pawn". haha i.e. Laundry & Pawn

These are sinks. They were so cool. If I had my own house I would put these in my bathrooms.

Mexico - Cozumel

We took a bus from Cancun to Playa Del Carmen and then took the 30 min ferry out to an island called Cozumel. This is where all of the cruise ships dock. We went snorkeling in the warm water and saw the coolest fish. There were a lot of deep sea diving teams below us practicing. I guess Cozumel is the best place to go scuba diving.

The boat we went on was a glass bottom boat. You could see everything.

Once in a while you'd come across a sweet place like this. I mean really ...who can afford to live there? So dreamy.

Mexico - Chichen Itza

Here are a few pics from Chichen Itza. I have so many awesome pictures that it was difficult to choose which to post. These ruins are thought to have been around since 600 bc.

These people were soooo interesting. Every corner represents a season and at the base of the stairs is a head of a snake. The triangular ridges up the stairs reresents the body of the snake coming down from heaven to bless ( fertalize) the soil for the coming crops. at jsut the right time of day you can see the shadow of the snake perfectly. They used to let people walk up the stairs but last year a woman fell from half way up and died.

These are on the side of the obervatory. They had all the stars and constilations figured out.

This was the Convent I believe.

Mexico - Mayan water sink holes

The Yucatan Peninsula for the most part doesnt have much soil, it's mostly rock. (which is why if you go there you'll notice all the trees are short and all the same size, they dont have the soil to fully grow). So when it rains the water goes straight through the rock and forms under ground caves where the water build up. They can be hundreds of feet deep. All of the Mayan cities were built around these water holes. Here is one we went to on our way to Chichen Itza.

There were also stairs down to the bottom and you could swim if you wanted.

Mexico -The Beach

I am going to do this in a couple of different sections. Here was our beach by our hotel. It was so great. It was a little overcast most the time but for us whities that was probably a good thing. It was still so warm and extremely humid.

Heavenly Sun

We finally got a few glimpses of the sun this Sunday. It was heavenly. We put our jackets on and went outside for a little air. Ruth just came into town to stay and play
for a couple of days.

Adam brought out his remote control car. Ryan loved it. You can see it in this picture below.

She is getting so many more teeth.

A Good Laugh

This should make you laugh! So Adam came home from school and this is what his hair looked like... so i (kindly) took him to the bathroom and showed him how to look into a small mirror to see the bigger mirror behind you. This was his reply. "HOLY COW!!! what is that a rat tail!". (he screams) "I HAVE A RAT TAIL! Why didn't you tell me? CUT IT OFF.. CUT IT OFF! (then he started chasing me) I yelled back laughing " NO not before I take a picture so that I can blog it!" lol he then agreed.

LOL So i said i'm not goint to cut it unless i can cut all of your hair... He said "no way! I'll cut it myself". So he grabbed my hair scissors and cut it himself.. He did a pretty good job.

His hairline just grows down like that. He's always had it and i thought he knew that. When his hair is short you can't even tell, its just kind of funny when his hair gets longer. You are a good sport Adam.

New Mexico Christmas

Sorry this took forever but here's what our Christmas looked like. We drove to the Buchanan's house for Chrismas and we had a great time.

Here are our stockings. Ryan got a little basket of plastic fruit and veggies she loves them.!

When we were kids we all got pvc pipe chairs with our names on them. They were the coolest!
So this year mom made one for all the grandchildren.. Ryan loves hers. Thanks mom.

We got little Ryan guitar hero 3 for Christmas.. cool huh? .. she lets us use it whenever we want though:) it has been a blast for parties.

These guys got remote controll cars from Bruce and Ruth.. they were like kids in a candy shop.

Ok so Adam has this old early 90's Sequel brand fleece pull over that Adam got from a second hand store in Durango a few years ago. It is a size too small but he loved it so much that he would wear it anyways. Needless to say it's not my favorite. However.... for christmas i surprised him and put a zipper in it so that he could wear it and it would fit. He was so excited. it was worth it. I still hide it from him from time to time though:)

Purgatory

One of our first dates was skiing/snowboarding at Purgatory. It was where Adam stole my heart. This Christmas we returned and had a great time! Its cool to think of all of the things we have accomplished since that first date. Thanks Adam.
